Garmin Venu X1: A Strong Contender Against the Apple Watch Ultra 2

The Garmin Venu X1 is a powerful new smartwatch designed to rival the Apple Watch Ultra 2. While it’s packed with high-end features, including a giant AMOLED display, a slim titanium case, advanced fitness tracking, and a built-in LED flashlight, there are several factors that might hold it back from surpassing Apple’s flagship model. Garmin’s Venu X1 boasts a large 2,000-nit AMOLED screen that is brighter than many other smartwatches, as well as a super-thin case at just 7.9mm, making it notably sleeker than the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Garmin’s holistic tracking technology also shines with superior sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and recovery tools, alongside support for over 100 workout types. Additionally, the built-in speaker and microphone add smart features like phone call capability, although it lacks cellular connectivity. However, the Venu X1 struggles in comparison to the Apple Watch Ultra 2 in a few areas, most notably battery life and GPS capabilities. The Garmin offers just two days of battery life with always-on display and 14 hours with GPS tracking, compared to the Ultra 2’s impressive 36-hour smartwatch mode and 72 hours in low-power mode. The Venu X1 also has a water resistance rating of just 50 meters, making it less suitable for serious swimmers compared to the Ultra 2’s 100-meter rating.
