Children’s Animated Series ‘Owen Nowhere’ to Launch on Blockchain Platform Lamina1

A new children’s animated series titled ‘Owen Nowhere’ is set to launch this fall on Lamina1, a blockchain-based decentralized web platform. Created by We Ghosted Media — a studio founded by former ‘Bob’s Burgers’ assistant director Chris Jammal and ‘Peg + Cat’ producer Jaclynn Demas — the show will forgo traditional television and streaming channels in favor of a web3 experience. The platform will include a crypto wallet for viewers to access and collect digital assets. Lamina1, co-founded by ‘Snow Crash’ author Neal Stephenson, aims to create an open metaverse where creators can control and monetize their intellectual property. ‘Owen Nowhere’ follows a preteen named Owen B. Gloom and his eccentric family on a road trip to bizarre tourist sites. The show’s virtual environment will allow users to influence storylines, access behind-the-scenes content, and acquire digital collectibles. While the concept is innovative, there are concerns about the use of crypto wallets for children, especially around financial risks and parental control. Lamina1’s CEO acknowledges the challenges and plans to adapt as the platform grows. Overall, the project represents an ambitious push to integrate children’s media with blockchain and community-driven storytelling.
