AirPods Pro 3 introduces U2 chip for improved case tracking and enhanced features

Apple has unveiled the AirPods Pro 3, a new iteration of its popular wireless earbuds, which boasts several impressive upgrades. One of the standout features is the integration of the U2 chip in the AirPods case, allowing for much more precise location tracking via the ‘Find My’ app. This chip is a significant upgrade over the U1 chip introduced with AirPods Pro 2, offering triple the range for locating the earbuds. The U2 chip was initially introduced in the iPhone 15 and is expected to make its way into other Apple products, such as an updated AirTag. Additionally, AirPods Pro 3 includes a heart rate sensor, double the noise cancellation performance, and an impressive 10-hour battery life in transparency mode—up from 6 hours in the previous model. Apple is also improving the Find My network, making it more reliable for AirPods case tracking. For those interested, the AirPods Pro 3 can be pre-ordered for $249 and will be available on September 19th. This release marks a significant upgrade in Apple’s earbud lineup, offering a blend of enhanced features, precision tracking, and longer battery life.
