AirPods Pro 3 Introduces Acoustic Seal Test for Better Sound and Noise Cancellation

The upcoming AirPods Pro 3 will feature a new Acoustic Seal Test designed to ensure users get the best possible sound quality and active noise cancellation (ANC). This test, highlighted in a new Apple support document, replaces the Ear Tip Fit Test used in previous AirPods Pro models. Users are advised to start with the medium-sized ear tip and adjust based on comfort and seal quality. Apple has introduced foam-infused silicone ear tips for the Pro 3, which are softer and more flexible than those of the previous generation. The new ear tips come in five sizes, including a new XXS size. The test can be accessed through the AirPods settings on an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26 or iPadOS 26. In addition, the AirPods Pro 3 include a heart rate sensor, but Apple notes that the optimal ear tip for sound may differ from the one needed for accurate heart rate sensing. Users are encouraged to try different sizes for both functions. The AirPods Pro 3 will be available for purchase starting September 19, 2025.
