Apple’s Upcoming iOS App Features: New Tools for Communication, Travel, and Music

At WWDC 2025, Apple introduced a range of new features set to launch with iOS 26 this fall. Key highlights include Call Screening, a feature that lets users screen unknown callers by silently answering and revealing their name and purpose before deciding to pick up. In addition, Hold Assist will automatically stay on the line during hold music until a live agent is available. Another exciting update is Live Translation, which allows real-time translation during phone calls and messages. In group chats, users can now create polls, add custom backgrounds, and send/receive Apple Cash. The update also improves privacy by allowing users to screen messages from unknown senders. Apple Music is enhancing the listening experience with features like Lyrics Translation, AudioMix (similar to Spotify’s AI DJ), and a karaoke option for Apple TV. For Apple Maps, users will benefit from smarter route suggestions for commutes and new Visited Places, all stored securely. Wallet now includes a Digital ID for easier age verification and domestic travel, while updates to FaceTime enable translated captions for cross-language communication. The Photos app is also getting a new tabbed interface and 3D photo support. Additionally, Camera, Podcasts, and Image Playground apps are receiving various updates, such as more intuitive interfaces and AI-powered features for image creation. This iOS 26 update promises a more user-friendly, efficient, and personalized experience across Apple’s apps.
