Amazon Launches One-Hour and Three-Hour Delivery Services Across the U.S.
Amazon has expanded its delivery services in the U.S., introducing one-hour and three-hour delivery options in numerous cities. The service covers more than 90,000 items, and users can see which products qualify through a label in the Amazon app. Prime members are charged $9.99 for one-hour deliveries and $4.99 for three-hour deliveries, while non-Prime users pay $19.99 and $14.99, respectively. The one-hour delivery is available in hundreds of cities, including parts of major metro areas like Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington, D.C., as well as smaller cities such as Des Moines, Boise, and American Fork. The three-hour option reaches over 2,000 U.S. cities and towns. Amazon also launched a dedicated storefront for items eligible for these rapid deliveries. The company plans to utilize its existing same-day fulfillment centers to handle the new service. This move reflects Amazon’s ongoing efforts to compete in the fast-delivery market against companies like Instacart, DoorDash, and Uber Eats. Previously, Amazon experimented with one-hour deliveries through its ‘Prime Now’ service in 2014 and piloted a 30-minute delivery option in December 2025. Internationally, Amazon has also tested ultra-fast delivery models, including 10-minute deliveries in India and 15-minute deliveries in the UAE.
