AMD Launches Radeon RX 9060 XT: Budget RDNA4 GPU for 1080p/1440p Gaming

On June 5, 2025, AMD officially launched the Radeon RX 9060 XT, expanding its RDNA 4-based RX 9000 GPU lineup. Targeted at gamers seeking affordable options for 1080p and 1440p gaming, this graphics card is available in two configurations: an 8GB version priced at $299 and a 16GB version at $349. The RX 9060 XT is built on the Navi 44 GPU, offering 32 Compute Units, 2,048 Stream Processors, 32 Ray Accelerators, and 64 AI Accelerators. The card supports PCIe 5.0 and provides a memory bandwidth of 320 GB/s via a 128-bit interface and 20 Gbps memory speed.

Performance benchmarks show that the RX 9060 XT competes well with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti, especially considering its lower price. However, it still falls behind in ray tracing compared to NVIDIA’s GB206-powered cards. AMD’s sampling of the 8GB model was reportedly limited, casting some doubt on its availability at retail. Despite this, several models are listed online, ranging from $299 to $419.99, depending on vendor and cooling configurations.

With a focus on value and power efficiency (150W–182W TDP), the RX 9060 XT aims to be a compelling choice for budget-conscious gamers, although premium variants exceed MSRP. The card complements AMD’s broader RDNA 4 strategy, sitting below the RX 9070 series in specs and pricing.
