Andhra Pradesh Allocates 480 Acres for Adani-Google 1GW AI Data Centre in Visakhapatnam

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the allocation of 480 acres of land in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts to Adani Infra (India) Pvt Ltd, a designated partner of Raiden Infotech India, a Google-affiliated company, for the construction of a 1 GW AI data centre. The project will follow the same high standards as Google’s services, including Search, YouTube, and Workspace. Multiple entities, including AdaniConneX India Pvt Ltd, Adani Power India Pvt Ltd, Bharti Airtel Ltd, Nxtra Data Ltd, and Nxtra Vizag Limited, are notified partners involved in this initiative. The government order dated December 2, 2025, permits the transfer of land to Adani Infra after survey and possession procedures are completed. Raiden Infotech plans a phased development of the data centres, with a total investment exceeding ₹87,500 crore in the state. The government will provide ₹22,000 crore in incentives over time. The facility’s 1 GW capacity will consume electricity equivalent to about 50% of Mumbai’s annual consumption. Initially, Google had announced a $10 billion investment, which has now increased to $15 billion according to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. This project is expected to enhance Andhra Pradesh’s technological infrastructure and create substantial economic opportunities.
