Apple to Introduce Redesigned Phone, Safari, and Camera Apps at WWDC 2025

Apple is expected to unveil major design updates to several of its core apps during the upcoming WWDC 2025, according to a Bloomberg report. The changes will include a redesigned Phone app that introduces a unified, scrollable window combining favorite contacts, recent calls, and voicemails. This new interface will be optional, allowing users to revert to the classic layout if preferred. The Safari browser is also getting a facelift, with a ‘glassy’ and more transparent address bar, reflecting a wider visual refresh aligned with Apple’s visionOS-inspired design philosophy. The Camera app is slated for simplification, an improvement previously hinted at by YouTuber Jon Prosser. In addition, Apple may introduce poll functionality to Messages and allow users to sync background images across devices, mimicking features found in WhatsApp. Other updates include expanding the Mac Preview app to iOS and iPadOS, enabling PDF annotation on mobile devices, and new details on a rumored Apple Games app, which could include tabs like Home, Arcade, Play Together, Library, and Search. Contrary to speculation, Apple’s app icons will largely remain unchanged. While some AI features, such as live translations, are expected, a more extensive AI overhaul including Siri is likely reserved for a future event.
