Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max Leak Reveals Bigger Battery and Slight Design Change

A recent leak has revealed significant details about the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, slated for release in September 2025. The leak, sourced from a Weibo user with a somewhat reliable track record, suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a larger battery, possibly up to 5,000mAh. This would represent a notable increase over the iPhone 16 Pro Max, which has a 4,676mAh battery. Along with the larger battery, the phone is expected to be slightly thicker, with an increase in thickness of just 0.475mm, from 8.25mm to 8.725mm. While this modest design change is not likely to make a drastic difference in the feel of the phone, it could have a significant impact on battery life. According to various reports, this increase in battery capacity could lead to up to 35 hours of battery life, compared to the 33 hours offered by the iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, experts caution that battery life improvements are not always directly proportional to battery size increases, as other factors like processor efficiency and software optimizations also play a role. Despite these variables, the focus remains on the larger battery and its potential to address one of the most common user complaints: poor battery life. Other expected upgrades include a new processor and enhanced camera capabilities, although the differences between the Pro and Pro Max models will likely remain minimal, apart from the improved battery performance.
