Apple Software Code Reveals AirPods Pro 3 May Launch This Fall

A recent leak from Apple’s own software hints that the AirPods Pro 3 may be on the way soon. Discovered by Aaron Perris, a change in code strings found in a new Apple software release suggests the company is preparing for the next generation of its high-end earbuds. Previously, the software referenced tasks that required ‘AirPods Pro 2nd Generation,’ but the updated code now states ‘AirPods Pro 2 or later,’ implying compatibility with an upcoming third-generation model.

While this update does not confirm an imminent release, it strongly indicates that Apple is actively developing and integrating support for the AirPods Pro 3. Most analysts believe a fall launch is more likely, aligning with Apple’s typical product release cycle. The AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro 2 were both launched in the fall, and it’s expected that the AirPods Pro 3 will debut alongside other major devices like the iPhone 17 lineup and Apple Watch Ultra 3.

The new AirPods Pro 3 are rumored to include the new H3 chip, enhanced Active Noise Cancellation, and additional improvements. Although a surprise WWDC launch in June is still possible, history and Apple’s product strategies point to a September release.
