Apple releases final updates for iOS, macOS, and other systems before next-gen software arrives

Apple has rolled out several updates for its operating systems, including iOS 18.6, iPadOS 18.6, macOS Sequoia 15.6, watchOS 11.6, tvOS 18.6, and visionOS 2.6. These updates primarily address security vulnerabilities, patching over two dozen flaws across various components like the Metal graphics API, WebKit, networking, and file system permissions. Notably, Apple has included fixes for an issue in the Photos app that prevented proper movie sharing. Additionally, the updates are in line with EU regulations, allowing for the installation of alternative app stores and direct app installation from websites as per the Digital Markets Act. While the updates include critical security patches, Apple states that there are no known active exploits. For users with older devices, Apple is offering updates for systems that no longer support the latest operating versions. These updates mark the end of the current software cycle, as the company prepares to launch the next generation of software in the coming months, under version 26.
