Apple updates App Store Connect with extensive new metrics and analytics tools for developers

Apple has announced a major update to its App Store Connect platform, providing app developers with over 100 new metrics to better understand app performance, monetization, and subscription trends. Unlike third-party analytics services, these metrics are directly sourced from Apple’s own data, ensuring accuracy. Key additions include exportable subscription reports via API, new filters allowing up to seven simultaneous conditions for data analysis, and tools to track user behavior by download date, source, and offer start date. Developers can now compare their performance against peer benchmarks for download-to-paid conversions and revenue per download, all while Apple safeguards user privacy through aggregated cohort data and differential privacy methods. An App Store Analytics Guide has also been released to help developers make data-driven decisions. The update comes amid broader discussions on the evolving app ecosystem, with AI agents potentially transforming the role of traditional apps. Apple aims to integrate AI to enhance its App Store ecosystem, including plans for an AI-powered Siri capable of completing tasks inside apps, expected to be showcased at its upcoming developer conference in June. Overall, the overhaul strengthens Apple’s developer tools while preparing for a future where AI may reshape mobile app interactions.
