Apple Expands Digital Driver’s License Feature to Four U.S. States

Apple is expanding its digital driver’s license feature through the Apple Wallet app, set to launch in North Carolina, Oklahoma, Utah, and Virginia. This brings the total number of states supporting the service to 18 plus Puerto Rico. Users can present their digital IDs at TSA checkpoints and participating businesses without unlocking their iPhones, enhancing privacy. North Carolina’s DMV announced plans to roll out a mobile ID program via the NC Wallet app starting in December 2026, with Apple Wallet support following in early 2027.
