The introduction of these rules has also raised concerns about the use of VPNs to circumvent age verification, as these tools can allow users to bypass geographical restrictions. While some major sites like Pornhub are committed to implementing these new checks, many adult platforms are still working to comply. For many users, the new process could disrupt the quick and easy access to content they are accustomed to, which might drive them to seek alternative, potentially more extreme content.
