Ashley MacIsaac files lawsuit against Google over AI-generated false criminal claims

According to the statement of claim filed in Ontario Superior Court, the misinformation led to the cancellation of a December 2025 concert at Sipekne’katik First Nation in Nova Scotia, following complaints from community members who saw the false allegations online. MacIsaac asserts that Google is liable not only for the AI’s inaccurate output but also for the foreseeable consequences, including harm to his reputation and professional opportunities. The claim emphasises that Google’s failure to implement sufficient safeguards and to contact MacIsaac with an apology or correction constitutes negligence.
