ASUS Launches ROG XG Mobile eGPU with RTX 5070 Ti for Laptops in Malaysia

ASUS has officially released the ROG XG Mobile external GPU (eGPU) equipped with the RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU in Malaysia. The new XG Mobile now connects via Thunderbolt 5, replacing the older XGm port, and offers enhanced GPU performance for laptops. The RTX 5070 Ti variant operates at 140W TGP and comes with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. Despite its increased power, the redesigned chassis is 18% smaller and 27% lighter, weighing just 952 grams. Cooling performance has also been improved with 150% more thermal surface area. In addition to its GPU capabilities, the device includes multiple I/O ports: a downstream Thunderbolt 5 port, DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, 5GbE LAN, a UHS-II SD card reader, and dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, though the bandwidth is shared among some ports. The eGPU draws power from an internal 330W power supply. Priced at RM6,299, this solution provides ultrathin laptop users with a relatively accessible option to boost graphics performance for gaming and creative tasks, marking ASUS’s latest step in expanding portable GPU solutions for high-performance laptops.
