Belkin will stop supporting most Wemo smart home devices by 2026

Belkin has announced it will end support for almost all of its Wemo smart home devices on January 31, 2026. The decision means that, after that date, most Wemo products will no longer work unless they are configured with Apple HomeKit. The company revealed in an email to customers that features like cloud connectivity, remote access, and voice assistant integrations will cease to function. Additionally, technical support and updates for the Wemo app will also stop. However, some Wemo products, including those based on the Thread protocol and the Wemo video doorbell, will continue to function as expected through HomeKit. Users must configure these devices before the end of January 2026 to maintain functionality. Belkin indicated that customers with products still under warranty at the time of support cessation might be eligible for a partial refund. This announcement follows Belkin’s retreat from supporting the Matter smart home standard in 2023 and its lack of new Wemo product releases since then.
