Meta Connect 2025 Highlights: New Smart Glasses, Horizon OS Features, and Horizon TV Launch

Meta Connect 2025, held on September 17, 2025, focused on unveiling the latest innovations in smart glasses and virtual reality software. The event showcased the highly anticipated Meta Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, featuring a waveguide display and a Meta Neural Band sEMG wristband for intuitive gesture controls. Meta also introduced the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) with new styles and AI-powered features, as well as Oakley Meta Vanguard sports glasses, designed for athletes with a centered camera and integration with Strava and Garmin for activity tracking. Beyond hardware, Meta revealed new AI-driven tools for content creation, including Horizon Studio for AI-generated 3D worlds and Meta Hyperspace for capturing real-world spaces into the Metaverse. Horizon TV, a new streaming hub for Quest headsets, combines services like Disney Plus and Blumhouse movies with immersive VR experiences. While live demos during the keynote faced technical issues, the overall presentation emphasized usability, comfort, and stylish design. The Meta Ray-Ban Display will be available in the U.S. from September 30 for $799, and Oakley Meta Vanguard glasses will ship starting October 21 for $499. The event also hinted at future software updates and developer-focused enhancements for Horizon OS, aiming to expand VR and AR experiences. Overall, Meta Connect 2025 underscored the company’s commitment to integrating AI, augmented reality, and smart eyewear into everyday digital life.
