EE resolves recent outage caused by technical fault affecting calls
EE has confirmed that a technical issue affecting its mobile network has been resolved after maintenance was carried out overnight. The issue, which affected some customers’ ability to make or receive calls, persisted for several hours and followed a similar outage earlier in the week. Customers reported difficulties with both mobile and landline phones, with some unable to even contact emergency services. Several users expressed frustration, with one 84-year-old customer sharing how they were unable to make vital calls to family members. Others, including business owners, reported disrupted services for multiple offices. Despite the issue, BT, which owns EE, assured customers that the network was functioning normally as of Saturday morning, though it continued to monitor the situation. BT had previously apologized for a major outage earlier in the week, which left many users unable to reach emergency services. EE has pledged to continue enhanced monitoring to avoid future disruptions and apologized for any inconvenience caused. The company emphasized that the issue has now been resolved and services should be fully operational again.
