Life360 Integrates Tile’s Tracking Features into Its Main App After Years of Delay

More than three and a half years after acquiring Tile for $205 million, Life360 has finally completed the integration of Tile’s lost-item tracking features into its main app. Starting this week, Life360 users can view not only their family members’ real-time locations but also their personal items like wallets, keys, and bags, all within the same interface. The update encourages Tile users to transition to Life360 by providing item tracking functionality directly in the Life360 app.

Tile users will be notified within their app about the change and directed to Life360. Simultaneously, Life360 will display a new section for item tracking on its location tab. Items connected to Tile devices and associated with Life360 family members will appear on the map. Free users can access two days of location history for their items, while paid subscribers get access ranging from 7 to 30 days, depending on the plan (Silver, Gold, or Platinum). Silver users now also receive emergency dispatch capabilities via the Tile SOS button.

Life360 also plans to roll out automatic push notifications for items left behind. The recent redirection of Tile.com to Life360.com signals the company’s intent to consolidate its user base. However, there is no official date for shutting down the standalone Tile app, although that move seems likely once all features are fully merged.
