Firefox Introduces Free VPN, Privacy-Focused Search Engine, and GeForce NOW Support

Mozilla’s Firefox browser is rolling out several new features aimed at enhancing user privacy and gaming experiences. The free built-in VPN, first introduced in Firefox 149, now extends to 28 countries until August 31st and will soon be available on Android and iOS devices. This service allows users to access content from different regions securely. Additionally, the privacy-focused search engine Startpage is being integrated into Firefox for desktop users in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, with mobile support coming soon. Startpage emphasizes zero profiling, no AI-driven results, and data protection, appealing to users concerned about online tracking. The update also includes official support for Nvidia’s GeForce NOW cloud-gaming platform, enabling high-performance PC gaming through a web browser without requiring local storage or lengthy installations. Firefox 154 addresses 58 security vulnerabilities, with 17 classified as high risk, and Mozilla is transitioning to a biweekly release cycle starting with Firefox 155 in September. The changes reflect Firefox’s commitment to user control over data, search options, and customization, positioning it as a browser for those seeking privacy and flexibility in their online experience.
