AMD Confirms FSR Redstone Progress, Dedicated Event Planned for Details

AMD has confirmed that its next-generation upscaling technology, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) ‘Redstone,’ is progressing as planned and is expected to launch later this year. The company has assured that more details will be shared during a dedicated event, signaling that the technology will be a major part of AMD’s roadmap. FSR Redstone aims to build upon the previous iterations, FSR 3 and 4, by introducing four core technologies: Neural Radiance Caching for improved global illumination, ML Ray Regeneration for more efficient ray tracing, ML Super Resolution for better image quality, and ML Frame Generation for smoother gameplay. These features aim to elevate both image quality and performance. FSR Redstone will be supported by FSR 3.1, which already includes partial features of the upcoming technology. AMD also confirmed that it intends to give FSR Redstone its own spotlight, further underlining its importance to both PC and console gaming. In addition, the company briefly addressed a recent leak of the FSR4 source code, which was pulled quickly, stating it was shared unintentionally. The new presentation is expected to highlight the full potential of FSR Redstone, offering a glimpse into AMD’s future graphics advancements.
