Gentari Launches Two 120kW DC EV Chargers at Kuching’s Boulevard Shopping Mall
Gentari has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Sarawak by deploying two new 120kW DC chargers at Boulevard Shopping Mall in Kuching. These chargers are located in the basement car park near Pillar D 11, offering four bays with two CCS2 nozzles each. The chargers provide up to 120kW of power, which can be split between two vehicles at 60kW each. Pricing is time-based at RM1.40 per minute, meaning a 15-minute charge costs RM21 and 30 minutes costs RM42. If used at full power, users receive around 30kWh in 15 minutes, effectively RM0.70 per kWh, which doubles if power is shared. Gentari Go app users can activate the chargers, and members with the Gentari Go Power Pass receive a 50% discount. This deployment complements previous charger installations in Bintulu and Sri Aman, helping EV drivers in Sarawak conveniently recharge while shopping. Notably, before this, only Gentari x SEB offered kWh-based pricing in the region, while others used time-based rates. The addition reflects growing support for EV infrastructure in Malaysia and is aimed at enhancing user convenience and charging efficiency.
