Germany’s Sovereign Tech Agency Supports GNOME with Design Fellowship

The GNOME project has secured a two-year fellowship from Germany’s Sovereign Tech Agency to enhance its design and community management efforts. The fellowship will provide a dedicated designer to offer feedback, create mockups, and standardize design patterns across GNOME applications. Philipp Sauberzweig, a GNOME Design Team member, will lead these initiatives, focusing on expanding the design community, improving tooling, and creating opportunities for new contributors. The fellowship also includes mentorship programs, such as pairing new designers with experienced ones for peer reviews. Other fellows include notable developers like Jakub Beránek, Pablo Neira Ayuso, Stan Ulbrych, and Hugo van Kemenade. This collaboration aims to strengthen GNOME’s open-source ecosystem by fostering innovation and accessibility.
