Google Pixel Leads Android Updates While Samsung Struggles with Rollout Delays

Google continues to pull ahead in the Android ecosystem by delivering timely updates to its Pixel devices, setting a high standard for security and performance. Recently, Google rolled out updates to 19 Pixel devices, including phones, tablets, foldables, and watches, all as part of its regular monthly update schedule. This efficient and unified rollout starkly contrasts with Samsung’s struggles. Samsung, one of the largest Android device manufacturers, was already significantly delayed in delivering Android 15 with One UI 7 to its users. Now, reports indicate that only flagship Samsung devices released in the last two years will receive Android 15 in April, with others waiting until May or June.

Despite promises of a faster Android 16 and One UI 8 release schedule—reportedly starting in July with new foldables—the current delays remain a pain point. This update lag raises concerns over Samsung’s ability to provide timely security patches in an age where zero-day threats are common. Google’s seamless integration of hardware and software enables quicker updates, much like Apple’s approach. As a result, Pixel users enjoy better privacy and security, positioning Google’s hardware as a more reliable Android option.
