Google Releases Pixel Buds Pro 2 Firmware 3.154 With Minor Bug Fixes

Google has released firmware version 3.154 for its Pixel Buds Pro 2, marking the second firmware update since their launch. The first update, rolled out in January, included enhancements in firmware and audio quality, along with the introduction of a ‘Bud return’ sound feature. In contrast, version 3.154 is a minor update and is officially described as containing only ‘minor bug fixes’.

This firmware update follows the broader wave of updates Google is deploying across its Pixel devices, including phones and smartwatches. As of the latest report, the 3.154 update has not yet appeared via the Android Pixel Buds app or the mypixelbuds.google.com website.

For users with automatic updates enabled, the firmware will download automatically when the earbuds are next connected to a Pixel phone or another Android 6.0+ device. The update, which takes around 10 minutes, can occur while the earbuds are in use or while they are charging, provided the battery level is sufficient. Manual updating is also possible via the app or through the web interface, and takes approximately 15 minutes.

Google has also recently provided guidance on cleaning the earbuds’ mesh, as buildup can impact audio quality. This update reinforces Google’s continued support for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 ecosystem, even though the latest firmware brings only minor behind-the-scenes fixes.
