Google Enhances AI Travel Assistant with Flight Price Tracking and Hotel Booking Features
Google has expanded its AI Mode to include travel planning capabilities, allowing users to track flight prices, book hotels, and compare costs in points or miles. The update positions AI Mode as a virtual travel agent, enabling users to describe their trip preferences and receive real-time pricing from over 300 airlines and travel sites. Users can set price alerts, build itineraries, and even complete bookings through partnerships with major hotel chains and platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Marriott. The feature now supports more than 180 countries for flight tracking and is rolling out in the U.S. for hotel bookings. Additionally, users can calculate mileage requirements for trips using loyalty programs. This marks Google’s shift toward handling transactional tasks beyond information retrieval, integrating travel services into its conversational AI experience.
