Google’s NotebookLM introduces AI-powered narrated video slideshows and updates to Studio features
Google has introduced a new feature called Video Overviews in its NotebookLM product, which uses AI to generate slideshows complete with narration based on the user’s saved content. This update is currently rolling out in English, with plans to support additional languages soon. The Video Overviews serve as a visual counterpart to the existing Audio Overviews, creating engaging AI-hosted presentations that include images, diagrams, quotes, and numerical data from users’ documents. These features enhance the explanation of complex data, processes, and abstract ideas. Additionally, Google has expanded the capabilities of NotebookLM’s Studio tab where users can now create and store multiple outputs of the same type, like several Audio Overviews, within a single notebook. The Studio interface itself is receiving a visual redesign featuring four main options: Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Mind Maps, and Reports—all designed to improve the user experience. These updates will be made available to all users over the coming weeks.
