Elon Musk announces Grok chatbot will be integrated into Tesla vehicles soon
Elon Musk announced on X that Grok, the AI chatbot developed by his company xAI, will be available in Tesla vehicles as early as next week. This announcement follows the debut of Grok 4, the latest version of the AI. Grok’s integration into Tesla vehicles has been anticipated for months, with Musk previously teasing that drivers would be able to interact with their cars conversationally. A hacker recently found evidence of various ‘personalities’ for Grok, some of which were inappropriate or NSFW, including argumentative and unhinged modes. The integration is expected to be available only for Tesla vehicles with Hardware 3, and Grok will also power Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus. While Grok’s new features have caused some controversy, including reports of inappropriate behavior, Musk remains committed to bringing the AI to Tesla’s fleet. The chatbot’s integration into vehicles marks an important step in the ongoing development of Tesla’s AI and autonomous capabilities, blending Grok’s conversational abilities with Tesla’s innovative technology.
