This functionality is currently supported by several automakers such as Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, Genesis, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo, with more brands expected to adopt it in the near future. Users can unlock or start their car using proximity, passive entry, or remotely through their Wallet app. The feature supports iPhone models from XS onwards, and Apple Watches Series 5 or newer. Depending on the vehicle, users may also use Express Mode, which enables them to operate their car without unlocking the iPhone or using Face ID or Touch ID. Apple has provided an updated list of supported vehicles, including those from 2025 and beyond, such as newer models from Audi, BMW, Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis. Additionally, during the WWDC 2025 keynote, Apple announced 13 more automakers would soon integrate this feature into their vehicles, including brands like Acura, Porsche, and Rivian. The feature aims to provide a more seamless and secure car access experience using Apple’s ecosystem.
