HoverAir Aqua: The Waterproof Drone Designed for Water-Based Filming

Zero Zero Robotics has unveiled its new HoverAir Aqua, an autonomous drone designed for water-based filming. This model offers a combination of features from the HoverAir X1 and the X1 Pro, with significant improvements such as a waterproof design and the ability to float, take off, and land on water. The Aqua has an IP67 rating, making it completely waterproof, and is aimed at people who engage in water activities like kayaking. It can capture up to 4K/100fps slow-motion video using a 1/1.3-inch sensor and includes a hydrophobic lens to prevent water droplets from obstructing the view. One of the key innovations is the Lighthouse, a wireless accessory worn on the arm that helps the drone track the user, even in the absence of a clear line of sight when taking off from water. The Aqua boasts 15 autonomous flight modes, with improved follow speeds and a virtual tether feature to bring the drone back to you automatically if it drifts too far. Weighing less than 249 grams, the Aqua doesn’t require FAA registration and features an AMOLED screen for live previews and footage review. Priced at $999, the Aqua is available for preorder via Indiegogo, making it the most expensive drone from Zero Zero Robotics yet.
