V.S. Ilanthirai appointed as Chief General Manager of BSNL Tamil Nadu Circle

V.S. Ilanthirai, a Higher Administrative Grade officer of the Indian Telecom Services, 1992 batch, has officially taken charge as the Chief General Manager (CGM) for the Tamil Nadu Circle of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Mr. Ilanthirai commenced his career with the Electronic Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) in Hyderabad, where he notably became the first engineer to install a laser trimming robotics machine imported from Chicago, U.S. He later served at Indian Telephone Industries (ITI) in Bangalore, contributing extensively to telecom products and end-to-end solutions spanning switching, transmission, access, and subscriber premises equipment. Additionally, he led and managed numerous projects involving the installation and commissioning of French Telecom (E10B) products for the Department of Telecommunications across different regions of India. His experience reflects a strong technical background coupled with significant project management expertise, marking a progressive step in BSNL’s leadership in Tamil Nadu. This appointment is expected to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen BSNL’s presence in the region.
