Apple Music Introduces AutoMix in iOS 26 for Seamless Song Transitions

Apple’s upcoming iOS 26 update brings several enhancements to the Music app, with the standout addition being the new AutoMix feature for Apple Music. AutoMix leverages artificial intelligence to analyze the audio characteristics of songs, creating smooth, DJ-style transitions between tracks. This results in continuous playback with time stretching and beat matching, offering users a more immersive and uninterrupted listening experience. The feature is enabled by default but can be customized or turned off in the Music app settings, where users can also opt for standard crossfade transitions or disable transitions entirely. Notably, AutoMix is not part of the Apple Intelligence suite, making it available to all iPhones compatible with iOS 26, starting from the iPhone 11. Other Music app updates in iOS 26 include expanded animated album art, in-app support for Apple Music Replay, and new pinning options. As iOS 26 is currently in early developer beta, features and functionality may change before the official release later in the year.
