iOS 26 Beta 4 Introduces UI Changes and AI-Powered News Summaries

Apple released the fourth developer beta of iOS 26 on July 22, 2025, introducing some significant changes, including refinements to its Liquid Glass user interface and the return of AI-driven news summaries. The update aims to address previous issues, such as the misrepresentation of headlines, which caused Apple to temporarily halt the AI-powered feature earlier in the year. The new version of iOS 26 beta 4 includes a ‘Welcome’ splash screen upon initial setup, along with updated screens that introduce new features like AI-powered notification summaries and prioritization options, as well as an updated Camera app. The AI-powered news summary tool now includes a disclaimer warning users that the AI might alter the original meaning of the headlines, urging them to verify information. Additionally, Liquid Glass, Apple’s new visual design, has been further refined. While the previous beta (beta 3) had dialed back some of the transparency in apps like Photos and Apple Music, beta 4 reintroduces this feature in a more visually balanced way, with added dynamic tints in the Notification Center. The update also brings new dynamic wallpapers and enhancements to CarPlay. Despite the improvements, Apple has yet to release full release notes for the beta, so more minor updates and bug fixes could be included. iOS 26 beta 4 is expected to be followed by the public beta later this week, allowing more iPhone users to test the new software before its official global launch later this year.
