iPhone 17 Series Shows Strong Pre-order Demand, Especially for the Pro Max
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has reported that the demand for the iPhone 17 series is exceeding expectations, with initial pre-orders surpassing those for last year’s iPhone 16. Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro Max has emerged as the most popular model, with production volumes for this device 60% higher than those of the iPhone 16 Pro Max during the same period in 2024. Despite the increase in production, shipping times for the Pro Max have remained relatively steady, suggesting strong demand. Meanwhile, the iPhone Air has seen less enthusiastic uptake, with units still available for preorder on launch day. Kuo theorizes that Apple may have overestimated demand for the Air, but cautions that it’s still too early to draw definitive conclusions. The strong demand for the Pro Max highlights the continued appeal of high-end iPhones, especially among content creators and filmmakers, while the Air’s fate may become clearer over time as it faces competition from other iPhone models.
