Apple’s ‘Side Quest’ Explores Mythic Quest from Inside the Game

Apple’s upcoming spinoff series, ‘Side Quest,’ will offer a fresh take on the ‘Mythic Quest’ universe by focusing on the in-game experience rather than the real-world setting of the original show. The four-episode series will explore both in-game events and the personal lives of its characters. The final episode, titled ‘The Last Raid,’ follows a group of high school friends—Devon, Kelly, Rory, Seth, and Freddie—who have made an annual tradition of participating in epic raids within the game. The episode provides a detailed look at the in-game world of ‘Mythic Quest,’ which appears somewhat like an older MMORPG, reminiscent of ‘World of Warcraft.’ While the main series often focused on the game development aspect, ‘Side Quest’ aims to showcase what keeps players engaged within the game itself. The entire season will be available for streaming on Apple TV Plus starting March 26th.
