Elon Musk faced online ridicule on Sunday after sharing a screenshot of an AI shopping assistant ordering Lego sets for his children, inadvertently revealing his home address and billing information. The post, which Musk shared on X, included details such as the order number, shipping destination, and confirmation page, prompting immediate criticism from users. Critics highlighted the security risk of sharing personal information publicly, with one YouTuber claiming to have canceled Musk’s order using the provided order number. The incident drew comparisons to Musk’s past actions, including banning journalists for tracking his jet’s flight data, which he had previously labeled as ‘doxxing.’ Musk defended himself by stating the address had been ‘doxxed multiple times’ and that he does not reside there, explaining it is merely the location where his security team receives mail. This is not the first time Musk has accidentally exposed personal information; in June 2025, he similarly revealed details from a drug test meant to counter rumors about his drug use. X’s Community Notes also noted that xAI explicitly warns users against including personal information in prompts. The incident underscores ongoing concerns about digital privacy and the risks of sharing sensitive data online, particularly for public figures. Musk’s actions have been widely criticized for demonstrating poor security practices, with many pointing out the potential for identity theft or other security breaches. The situation has become a topic of discussion on social media, with users mocking Musk’s apparent lack of awareness regarding online security protocols. Despite Musk’s attempts to downplay the incident, the backlash highlights the importance of safeguarding personal information in the digital age.
