Meta AI introduces video editing features with preset AI prompts for content creators
Meta has announced new video editing capabilities for its AI-powered tools, now available through the Meta AI app, Meta.ai website, and its Edits platform. These features allow users to edit short videos by applying AI-generated prompts to change elements such as costumes, locations, and video styles. With 50 preset options, users can, for instance, transform a video to reflect a vintage comic book style, adjust lighting to create a rainy day effect, or change clothing to a space cadet suit. This new offering positions Meta to compete with rivals like Google, which has been steadily adding generative AI video tools. The editing features were designed with input from creators to ensure ease of use and are aimed at helping individuals craft creative videos to share on social platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Meta’s focus seems to be on enticing creators to use its own tools, rather than relying on third-party apps. The company also plans to expand customization options later in the year, making the tool more versatile. Meta AI has already offered image generation tools, and now it aims to bring similar creativity to video editing.
