Microsoft Edge introduces Copilot Mode: AI Assistant for Browsing and Everyday Tasks

Microsoft has released a major update to its Edge browser with the introduction of Copilot Mode, a feature designed to integrate AI assistance directly into web browsing. This experimental, opt-in feature is currently free for Windows and Mac users with access to Copilot. Copilot Mode offers users an AI helper that can understand research topics, anticipate needs, and perform tasks such as booking appointments, creating shopping lists, or drafting content. By allowing the AI to access relevant web pages and open tabs—with user consent—Edge aims to make web research, comparisons, and daily tasks more efficient.
