Rumors Suggest New iPhone Fold Could Be Thinner and More Affordable

Rumors about Apple’s iPhone Fold have started circulating ahead of its expected release next year. According to a recent UBS report, the iPhone Fold could be priced more affordably than initially anticipated, with a potential starting price around $1,800, which is significantly lower than earlier expectations that ranged from $2,000 to $2,400. This price reduction is attributed to Apple’s focus on cost savings in areas like memory, processors, and camera modules. Despite this, the device would still be considered a premium product, with profit margins similar to Samsung’s foldables. In addition to its price, the iPhone Fold is expected to be one of the thinnest Apple products ever, with rumors suggesting an unfolded thickness of just 4.8mm. This would make it thinner than the current thinnest Apple device, the 13-inch M4 iPad Pro. These rumors align with previous reports from analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, though it remains to be seen whether the device will indeed achieve these specs. As the device progresses into production, more detailed pricing and design information should emerge in the coming months.
