Nothing Phone 3: A New Flagship with Bold Features and a More Subtle Design
The Nothing Phone 3, set to launch in the US this month, marks the company’s first true flagship. Priced at $799, it aims to compete with major players like the iPhone 16, Galaxy S25, and Pixel 9. Unlike its predecessors, which were defined by flashy light displays, the Phone 3 swaps the iconic Glyph interface for a simpler dot-matrix LED display. This subtle change aligns with the company’s desire to make the phone more user-friendly, allowing for custom notifications with recognizable symbols. The Phone 3 boasts a powerful Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and a 5,150mAh battery that supports fast charging. The device also features a 6.67-inch OLED screen, offering higher brightness than previous models, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Additionally, the camera system includes four 50-megapixel lenses, though performance will need testing. The Phone 3’s design also introduces new “Glyph Toys” and an AI-powered Essential Key for added functionality. This marks Nothing’s big leap into the premium smartphone market and its second attempt at a US launch after two years. Though the new design is less radical than before, it offers a more refined experience while remaining true to Nothing’s identity.
