Hackers Threaten to Publish More Personal Data of Nursery Children

A group of hackers, identified as Radiant, have breached the Kido nursery chain and are holding the personal data of thousands of children and their families for ransom. The criminals have already published the profiles of 10 children on the dark web, including their names, photos, birth details, and contact information. They have threatened to release 30 more children’s profiles and 100 employees’ private data unless they are paid. The hack occurred when the hackers accessed data from Famly, a widely-used software service by many nurseries. While Kido has not officially commented on the breach, they are cooperating with authorities, and the police are investigating the matter. Parents have expressed concern, with some reporting threatening phone calls from the criminals demanding ransom. The hackers have stated they are motivated solely by money and will not target nurseries again due to the attention the breach has attracted. Authorities advise against paying ransoms to hackers, as it fuels the criminal industry. The case raises serious concerns about the security of children’s data online and the growing threat of cybercrime targeting vulnerable organizations.
