Nvidia reaches a $4 trillion market value, leading the AI revolution

Nvidia has become the first company to achieve a market value of $4 trillion, a milestone fueled by the surging demand for technology powering artificial intelligence (AI). The chipmaker’s shares increased by 2.4% to $164 on Wednesday, continuing the company’s meteoric rise since it first reached a $1 trillion market value in June 2023. According to analyst Dan Ives, Nvidia is now seen as a pivotal player in the AI space, with its chips being compared to ‘new gold and oil.’ Despite setbacks, such as a significant dip in share price in April due to US President Donald Trump’s trade policies, Nvidia’s value has skyrocketed due to the increasing reliance on its chips to power generative AI models like ChatGPT. The company’s success has also elevated the profile of its CEO, Jensen Huang, who has become a prominent figure in the tech world, with even Mark Zuckerberg likening him to ‘the Taylor Swift of tech.’ Nvidia’s growth is a clear reflection of Wall Street’s confidence in AI, as the company reported a 69% increase in revenue, totaling $44.1 billion in the first quarter of 2023. The AI revolution, powered by Nvidia, continues to reshape the technological landscape.
