Polish Startup Horsano Develops Wearable Tech for Horses to Monitor Health
Horsano, a Polish startup, is revolutionizing equine health monitoring with its innovative wearable technology designed for horses. Founded by Adam Siedlaczek, a former show jumping rider, and Szymon Serej, the company aims to address critical health concerns like colic, which is a leading cause of equine deaths. The startup’s wearable devices, including a belt and vest fitted with proprietary dry sensors, allow continuous monitoring of a horse’s vital signs, such as heart rate, respiration, activity levels, and posture. These wearables provide real-time data, which is analyzed using AI to detect early signs of health issues. Unlike human health wearables, which require gels or shaving, Horsano’s tech does not need moisture to function, making it more suitable for horses. The product is being used in veterinary clinics and will soon be available for everyday use, offering continuous monitoring during stable time, grooming, and even riding. This innovation addresses a market that is still largely analog in terms of equine care. Horsano aims to target horse owners, breeders, veterinarians, and equestrian centers, helping to reduce health-related costs and improving early intervention in critical cases. The device is expected to retail at around €2,000, with subscription options for advanced features. The startup is now raising funds for European expansion.
