Samsung to Delete Inactive Accounts Starting July 31, 2025; Users Must Log In to Retain Data
Samsung has announced that starting July 31, 2025, it will begin deleting user accounts that have been inactive for 24 months or longer. This policy aims to manage finite company resources and protect user data by removing accounts that are no longer in use. Users who have not logged into their Samsung accounts within the last two years will have their accounts and all associated data permanently deleted from Samsung servers. This includes data stored in Samsung Cloud, Samsung Wallet, Galaxy Store apps, Find My Mobile, and other linked services. Samsung has notified affected users via email, urging them to log in before the deadline to prevent deletion. Accounts with occasional activity will remain safe, but those completely inactive risk losing all stored information. Users can also choose to delete their accounts voluntarily through Samsung’s website. This policy is part of Samsung’s effort to maintain data security and streamline account management. Exceptions apply for registered family accounts, accounts with Samsung Rewards activity, and those used for purchases. It is recommended that users review their accounts and back up any important data before the July 31 deadline to avoid irreversible loss.
