Singtel Provides Free One-Year Cybersecurity Protection to 50,000 SMEs in Singapore

Starting November 2025, almost 50,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore will receive one year of free cybersecurity services through the Singtel Cyber Protect Programme. This initiative, part of the national Digital Enterprise Blueprint, is a partnership between Singtel, the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and Enterprise Singapore to help SMEs combat increasing cyber threats amid growing digitalisation. The programme protects business mobile devices and broadband networks by detecting and blocking malicious links and ransomware threats. The first 12 months of protection cover up to five mobile lines for 14,000 SMEs and one broadband network for 35,000 SMEs. Afterward, nominal monthly fees will apply. SMEs are still required to install basic antivirus software despite the programme. Singtel will also provide cyber-security workshops and educational content to boost SMEs’ understanding of cyber risks. The effort supports the government’s broader aim to help SMEs adopt digital solutions securely and adopt AI tools to enhance productivity. Recent spikes in malware infections underline the urgency of this initiative. This aligns with other government-backed programmes that assist SMEs in digital transformation and cybersecurity readiness.
