X platform resumes service after brief global disruption

Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, faced a brief global outage on Thursday afternoon, causing disruptions for users worldwide. NetBlocks, a service that tracks internet disruptions, reported that X was experiencing international outages shortly after 12pm. These issues were not related to any regional internet restrictions or filtering. Downdetector, a tool that monitors real-time internet outages, showed a significant increase in complaints from Pakistani users, with a peak of 189 reports related to X. The majority of these complaints were about the X timeline and app functionality. However, by 12:45pm, the number of reported issues had dropped dramatically. In the US, reports of problems fell sharply from nearly 31,700 to under 200 within the same timeframe. This was not the first time X has experienced such an issue, as there was another brief outage on March 18, as well as incidents in February and January. Despite these disruptions, X remains one of the most popular social media platforms globally, with its owner Elon Musk continuing to lead the platform through various technical challenges.
