D3O, a leader in impact protection technology, is set to revolutionize motorcycle safety with its upcoming non-Newtonian helmet liners, expected to hit the market by 2027. Non-Newtonian materials, like those used by D3O, change their properties depending on the force applied—remaining flexible under slow movements but becoming rigid upon sudden impact. This unique characteristic has already made D3O popular in military, law enforcement, sports, and industrial safety gear. The new helmet liner, first introduced as the ‘Amp’ concept in 2022, aims to enhance protection by absorbing both high and low-level impacts, such as minor branches during off-road riding.
