Trump Mobile, the telecommunications company linked to Donald Trump, has removed the claim that its T1 Phone is ‘Made in the USA’ from its website. Initially, the smartphone was advertised as being produced domestically, a claim that raised skepticism given the rapid delivery timelines and its affordable price point of $499. In place of the earlier assertion, the website now states that the phone was ‘designed with American values in mind,’ though it no longer explicitly mentions its production location. The company also reduced the phone’s screen size from 6.78 inches to 6.25 inches and pushed back its release date to the end of the year. Trump Mobile has defended the phone’s American manufacturing, but the removal of the ‘Made in USA’ label suggests a shift in its marketing strategy. Additionally, the T1 phone will be sold alongside a ‘Plan 47’ for $47.45 a month, referencing Trump’s 45th presidency. The phone will operate on the major U.S. networks, including T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T.
